Recording conditions and audio quality

All sessions are recorded in the cave with a small pocket recorder, placed next to John, without any presets or protocols. The volume is different each time.

Also, from the beginning, using an app on my phone, in aeroplane mode of course, we have been transmitting a continuous frequency of 528 MHz. John says this helps him. You can hear this frequency on the recordings.

The sessions last about half an hour. John starts talking after a few minutes. When finished, using audio processing software, I remove the blanks at the beginning and end, as well as some long pauses. When we started recording the sessions, we ended up with about 10 minutes of material, then 15, then more than 20 minutes today.

In a trance state, John speaks relatively softly. So, I have to turn up the general volume. This little recorder naturally generates a bit of background noise, and by turning up the volume, I also increase this noise. I can’t take it out without altering the quality of the voice, which is why you hear these recordings in a raw state. We think that ultimately it has to do with the authenticity of the message…
